| A Columbia native, Dr. Davis grew up in the Midlands with his four brothers and one sister.
Their father, Dr. Daniel W. Davis, is a retired surgeon after practicing
for 48 years in the Midlands. Their mother, Carla Davis, is a local
real estate agent. Dr. Davis’ brother, Myles Davis, is an OB/GYN
with Columbia Women’s Healthcare in Columbia.
Dr. Davis attended
public school in Columbia, South Carolina. In 1984, Dr. Davis graduated
from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
In May 1987, Dr. Davis graduated from the University of South Carolina
School of Law. After completing law school, Dr. Davis practiced law
in the Midlands. He continues to be a member of the South Carolina
and Georgia Bar.
In 1991 Dr. Davis returned
to school to pursue a degree in medicine. He graduated from the Medical
University of South Carolina in 1995. He completed a general surgery
residency at Atlanta Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He was Chief
Resident of General Surgery in 2000. Dr. Davis returned to Charleston
to perform his fellowship in plastics and reconstructive surgery at the
Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Davis completed that fellowship
in 2002 and was Chief Fellow in 2002.
In July 2002, Dr. Davis
and his family returned to Columbia to start his private practice, Donen
Davis Plastic Surgery, LLC.
Dr. Davis is Board
Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member
with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is also a member
of the American Medical Association, South Carolina Medical Association,
Columbia Medical Society, Columbia Medical Journal Club, Georgia Medical
Association, South Carolina Bar Association and the Georgia Bar Association.
Dr. Davis is Chief
of Surgery for Palmetto Health Baptist. He is also vice-chairman
of the Palmetto Health Baptist Surgery Department. Additionally,
Dr. Davis serves on the following committees: Palmetto Health Baptist Surgical
Services, Palmetto Health Baptist Modernization Committee, Palmetto Health
Baptist Credentials Committee and the Inter-medical Medical Executive Committee.
He belongs to and is an active participant with Palmetto Health Baptist
and Palmetto Health Richland weekly Breast Cancer Conferences.
Dr. Davis has active
privileges at Palmetto Health Baptist, Palmetto Health Richland, Palmetto
Health Parkridge Surgery Center, Providence Hospital, Lexington Medical
Center/Irmo Day Hospital, Providence Day Surgery Center, Palmetto Surgery
Center and Midlands Orthopaedic Surgery Center.
Dr. Davis was married
on June 21, 1992, to Sheila Inabinet. They have two sons. Dr.
Davis enjoys hunting, travel and playing golf. |
